Hail Friends!

I hope everyone had a good weekend! As I mention before I was at PAX Unplugged this past weekend and had a blast. I was able to meet up with two of you wonderful people, and I am so sad I didn't get to meet the other folks that mentioned they were there :( Someone mentioned playing Where's Waldo when I said I was going to be wearing a red hoodie, and you can see why...

I also spoke with a lot of amazing miniature game companies and picked up some more cool stuff to paint once we have gone through our list :D Privateer Press' Dallas Kemp even asked to take sample Hobby Holder back to Washington to mess around with :O so I am anxiously awaiting to hear his thoughts!

On the painting front, I cleaned up my work space, added some shelves for paints and storage, and I am hoping to have the Krumpus video posted this weekend!

31,250 Bottle Caps...

I actually ordered more black bottle caps than the distributor had! There should be enough to fulfill the campaign in black, but future sales after fulfillment will be in white most likely. They are the exact same cap just a different color so no probs.

They ended up "only" weighing 150 pounds.

In other crazy fulfillment number news, I have ordered 65 feet of carbon fiber rods, 7000 ziplock bags, 23 pounds of sticky tak and 4000 shipping labels...

Survey Lockdown Dates and Pre-order/Retail Plans

Right now I am planning on locking down the surveys on Dec. 4. This gives everyone a little less than two weeks to make their final decisions (Surveys are at 92% completion). This will also allow the manufacturer three weeks before the holidays to begin (and probably finish) producing the first full Hobby Holder order.

Once the surveys are locked down I will be reviewing all of the colors and their popularity to determine which will be available after Kickstarter fulfillment. These will be the colors available through the pre-order process and online once The Hobby Holder is available for retail sale. I will be ordering varying quantities of all the colors available now in case anything happens to your Hobby Holders in the mail.

To those of you who celebrate, Happy Thanksgiving, and to the rest, have a great rest of the week :D

Thanks for your continued support!

If you haven't recieved your survey invite yet...
over 6 years ago – Wed, Nov 15, 2017 at 12:36:11 AM

Hi Friends!

I just wanted to send out a quick update to address missing BackerKit surveys.

BackerKit says all the survey invitations including all late pledges have been sent out at this point, but I have received messages about some of you not receiving your invitation yet. We are at 87% with two weeks left, so I'm not too worried, but I wanted to make sure everyone was being taken care of :D

If you have not received a survey invitation from BackerKit yet, visit https://hobbyholder.backerkit.com/ and submit the email address you used on Kickstarter or that you used for the Late Pledge form.

If you still don't receive your invitation, feel free to send me a message and I will PM you your direct link!

Thanks so much for your continued support!

Hobby Holder Production Samples Are Here!
over 6 years ago – Sun, Nov 12, 2017 at 12:33:46 AM

Hello friends!

I hope everyone had a good week :D I have been working on getting orders in place for caps, buttons, sticky tack etc., so that as soon as the Kickstarter funds arrive I can send them right back out to get things moving.

The surveys have been out for 5 days now and we are at 80% which is pretty good! Like I said previously they will be open through November, so you have about 3 weeks to lock in your final decisions. You can always go in and adjust it until the lock down date if you are waiting to fill it out until you have made your decisions. If you have any questions feel free to message me directly or use the support through BackerKit.

We are at almost 1000 Black Base ordered followed by Silver at almost 600. For the Handles, Black is in the lead again with a bit over 760 followed by Sky Blue at 630!

The Hobby Holder Production Samples REVEALED!

Sorry there is no intro to the video; the fist half of the unboxing was me getting hyped for the reveal of... another box >.<

I went with a Black Handle and the Fresh Green Base for the samples in recognition of a successful Kickstarter campaign, and they look so sharp :D Everything is spot on, and the stone polish feels amazing. I will do some stress testing on them, but from what I can tell messing around with them, they are SOLID. Check out some more photos below.

---

I got a bright red hoodie with the The Order of the Miniature on the back, and I will be bringing a handful of the samples with me to PAX Unplugged next weekend. Feel free to send me a PM :D

Thanks so much for your amazing support!

The Hobby Holder's BackerKit PM Survey Invitations Sending Shortly
over 6 years ago – Tue, Nov 07, 2017 at 11:06:56 PM

Hi Friends!

I wanted to send out a quick update with some more information as I prepare to send the invitations to the BackerKit Pledge Management surveys to pick your Hobby Holders.

First a quick "Why BackerKit?" before diving into the nitty-gritty... BackerKit allows for you to easily select color options for your pledges, add add-ons and additional funds if you want some more goodies. They also help with support so you can get answers to questions even faster. On my end it is WAY easier to keep track of everything from start to shipped. Having everything in one place with the ability to print shipping manifests and postage tied directly to each of your pledges means we stick to our timeline :D

Below are a few bullets with info; if anyone has other questions please let me know!

  • Because there are WELL OVER 500 of you amazing folks, BackerKit requires a initial test batch of surveys to be sent out to make sure everything is running correctly. In a little while 5% of each pledge tier will receive their invitation. Our friends at BackerKit will analyze the responses and let me know if I need to fix anything. Once this is done the remaining surveys will be sent out.
  • The surveys will be open through November, at which point they will lock and you will not be able to adjust your pledge and your cards will be charged for extras. This timeline will allow me to place the order with the manufacturer before the holidays get in full swing while still giving everyone plenty of time.
  • I have turned on the ability to switch reward tiers. If you increase your pledge level you will just pay the difference. If you jump down a pledge level the additional credit can be used on add-ons and shipping (if needed).
  • Everyone is given a little wiggle room to order additional add-ons at the current shipping rate included in your pledge. I have added weights to the add-ons, and additional shipping (calculated by the postal service) will automatically be added as you increase the weight of the package.
  • If you don't receive you survey after I announce the main batch has been sent out, check your SPAM, Updates, Promotions etc. folders, or if you already have, let me know and I can check to see what happened!
  • Late Pledge Requesting will remain open until a few days before the surveys close to make sure everyone has enough time to join the party!

That's it for now!

Thank you for the amazing support!

Survey ETA, Late Pledges Open and Miniature Painting Videos Order Revealed!
over 6 years ago – Sun, Nov 05, 2017 at 11:49:50 PM

Hi Friends!

I hope you all had a good weekend! I tried to get this update out yesterday, but with a combo of the full moon, daylight savings and two kids with stuffy noses, I did not haha.

I have been working diligently on getting the survey ready to send out. I tried to make it easy, so there are pictures with each color option and all the add-ons have nice big photos. I am submitting it to BackerKit for review shortly and as soon as I get their thumbs up I will send it out! Woohoo! I am hoping it will go out today (Monday) or, at the latest, Tuesday depending on how long their review takes.

---

Late Pledges Open

I have posted a link to the form to request to be added as a late pledge on the main page. These pledges will be added to the main order that is placed when the survey closes, so the timeline for delivery should not be affected!
