New Color UNLOCKED! You Voted #2 and Visual Reward Level Update

We just broke 1500 backers and are closing in on 300%... You all rock!

The last few days have been filled with not only my full-time job and family time but also talking with the manufacturer, fulfillment coordinators, vendors and getting details in order. I am making sure that, even with the popularity and volume we are reaching, the timeline is as close to unchanged as possible. This means spending a little extra time and finances here and there, but in the end I want to make sure you all are happy and we all get to painting as soon as possible!

New Color Option UNLOCKED! Fire and Ice #2

The Fire and Ice #2 (Orange and Silver) color option for the Hobby Holder is now unlocked! This new color combo compliments Fire and Ice #1 (Silver and Red) and means you can get a solid silver Hobby Holder. You can opt to receive the Fire and Ice #2 combination instead of or with the other unlocked color options depending on how many you have pledged for.

These will also be added as base (Silver) and handle (Orange) colors to the add-on section.

Visual Reward Level Update

I totally spaced and didn't include the Plans and STL mods downloads in the Visual Reward Levels. These will be added to all 4 of those on the campaign page since they are indeed included with all reward levels The Hobbyist and above!

You Voted #2: Lucky Emissary

Turnout to the polls wasn't as good as the first mini vote, but the consensus was you want me to paint and film the Lucky Emissary by Wyrd. It shall be done! (If I waited until tomorrow to ask for a vote I would be able to paint any of the core KD:M miniatures :P).

Next Stretch Goal Revealed: Lifetime Production Molds

I honestly didn't think we would get to this point when I first started contacting manufacturers, so I hadn't considered this option. Well the time is here and we are in sights to upgrade to guaranteed, higher-standard on-demand manufacturing molds. There is a cost increase (for me), but this would mean that The Hobby Holder injection molds will be guaranteed for life and if they start to loose quality new molds will be cut by the manufacturer. Part quality will be improved with the higher-standards plus you will always be able to purchase a new Hobby Holder in the future! In the last two days I have been preparing the upgraded files and they have been approved. We can do it!

This does mean I put the order on hold since the update when I placed the order. We will still be ahead of schedule and the molds will be completed long before the surveys close so you can see a real production Hobby Holder before finalizing everything.

In the next few days I will be building out the Game Envy website some more now that I actually have something to go on it :)

Happy half way day friends!

What an awesome ride this campaign has been so far! We made it to #9 in Popularity for all projects in our first two days and have been hanging in the Top 20 in Games ever since. There are 1400 of you now and you have smashed the funding goal and unlocked some really cool stuff. I am so excited that The Hobby Holder has hit home with so many of you wanting a better way to paint miniatures. Let's keep the train moving and see how many hands we can get Hobby Holders in to! Thanks so much for believing in this project!

Slower Percival Painting

I decreased the speed of the Percival painting video to 3X from 15X and uploaded it to YouTube. It is 35 minutes now which is still pretty fast, so I would be happy to upload it at full speed if anyone wants. Just let me know :D

Next Stretch Goal

I know I announced this in the last update, but I wanted to repost now that we smashed the last goal. I was receiving requests for additional colors, so I lets get some more colors! We are already on our way ;)

Hello wonderful people :D

I wanted to say something about Mondays, but it is now Tuesday... Anywho let's get excited because "Hit the Ground Running: Part 2" 4 Free Tacky Sticks is now UNLOCKED!

Monday marked our first official campaign week, and with more than 920 backers and 7 stretch goals now unlocked, no one can deny we are off to a great start! I have a special 1000 backers treat that we should be seeing pretty soon. Let's get to it!

"Hit the Ground Running: Part 2" 4 Free Tacky Sticks UNLOCKED

Every backer at The Hobbyist level and above will now be receiving 4 tacky sticks to use with their caps and Hobby Holder so you can get right to painting! I will be testing several brands that I can get in large enough quantities to make sure the kind you receive will work well with plastic bottle caps and the Hobby Holder.

New Stretch Goal Revealed

I combined the next two stretch goals so I can get the rest of the requested updates finished and finish painting Percival!

People have been asking about stands for the Hobby Holder in Grip and Holder mode. While the Hobby Holder is designed is be stable in both modes when resting, I think we can all agree a little extra stability while your mini is on the work table isn't a bad thing! I will be creating DIY Plans (30k) and 3D Printable STL files (32K) for a resting stand for both Holder and Grip modes. The DIY Plans will be created from material you can pick up at a local hobby store while the STL file will be able to be printed and assembled on any 3D printer.

I am going to start adding in requested photos (of Hobby Holder related things) in this section before they are added to the campaign page, so if you are wondering about something let me know.

Good morrow fine friends,

I missed sending out an update yesterday, but it was nice to get caught up on some update writing and painting!

A lot has happened in the last two days though; we reached 1000 backers AND we are 200 percent funded!! This is really amazing, and I can't say "thank you" enough. THANK YOU!

For hitting this awesome milestone I am unlocking the "Beautiful Decay: Black Handle, Pink Base" color options!

New Color Options UNLOCKED - 1k/200% Achieved

The Beautiful Decay: Black Handle and Pink Base color options for the Hobby Holder are now unlocked! These new color options will allow for some more cool color combos including black and green for those wanting a nod to Kickstarter. You can opt to receive the Beautiful Decay combination instead of or with the other unlocked color options depending on how many you have pledged for.

These will also be added as base (Pink) and handle (Black) colors to the add-on section.

Stand Plans and STL Files UNLOCKED!

All backers at The Hobbyist level and above will now receive a file containing plans to build a stand to give your Hobby Holder even more support when it is on your table. The plans will be able to be easily made from material and tools available at your local hobby or home improvement store. You will also receive an STL file that can be printed.

Add-on Weights

I weighed all the add-ons I have samples of, and below are their listed weights to calculate if you will need additional shipping. I will also add in Tacky Sticks and the Push Rod when I get those samples in.

• Additional Hobby Holder Handle: $10 - .30oz*
• Additional Hobby Holder Base: $10 - .50oz*
• 10x Bottle Caps: $2.50 - 1oz
• 44mm Plexiglass Base Extender: - $2.00 - .2oz

*Estimated until I weight 100% filled versions.

Next Stretch Goal?

The next stretch goal will be at 36K and I am still deciding which one to choose, but I will let you know before we get there and as soon as possible! It will be another Plan/STL Reward though. I think this fits perfectly into the idea that the Hobby Holder is an all-in-one hobbyist tool that can be used how you want it to be.

Happy Friday the 13th!

There are over 1100 of you awesome people now! I am blown away every day when I see how many new faces have joined the party :D Thank you so much!

I finalized the last few details with the injection mold company today. I approved the ejector pin (these are what pop the piece out of the mold) layout, and I double checked all the files were within their expand/shrink tolerance. Now I just need to decide which two colors to get for the official molded samples!

I am finishing editing the Percival video, and I have to say I applaud those of you who paint on video regularly... It was a totally different painting experience than I am used to, but I am very please with how she turned out.

Base Extender Plan and STL UNLOCKED

All backers at The Hobbyist level and above will now be receiving a file with a plan to build an extender that will attach to the base of the Hobby Holder. The plans will be able to be built with materials and tools from your local hobby or home improvement store. The STL file will be able to be printed for those of you with access to a 3D printer.
